Started by getting a few washers the same as the outer diameter of the bearing races...... (but not wider, because the bearing race is slightly recessed in the steering head)

Then put it all together with some threaded rod --- and a couple large turn buckles..... with a couple smaller fat washers to strengthen the tension points on each end.....(BTW --- the small washers go against the turn buckle....for this photo the washers aren't in the right sequence.... oops)

Heres what the tool looks like on the bike....... (I used the old races for the photo....... new bearings will be in on Wednesday)
